Exhibitions, Expositions, Fairs...
Just different names for the same thing. They are either Trade Shows or Public Shows. Check the advert or call the organizer if you are unsure exactly what they are.
Road Shows
A road show can be a very effective way of taking your showroom to your customers. Creating your own private show.
Contact a few hotels in the area you want to set up your road show. Choose a hotel with good access by road, a suitable size room and plenty of car parking.
Write to your customers and prospects within, say, a fifty-mile radius and ask them to return a Booking Form to apply for their free tickets. This will give you a feel for the number of visitors you can expect.
When you send out tickets, include a letter reminding them of what they will be seeing on the day, any special offers, deals, new products etc. If you fail to do this most of your customers will have forgotten why they originally decided to attend and won’t bother to turn up. This is something we have learned from bitter experience.
Also enclose a detailed direction map and instructions on getting there.
After you have sent out the tickets, call your visitors to make sure they have received the tickets and confirm their attendance. Don’t be too surprised if up to 50% fail to turn up.
