Trade Show Help and Advice
Getting Your Pre - Trade Show Publicity In Place
The organizers will be doing their very best to attract the right numbers of quality visitors to the show. You must not rely on the organizer to do all of the work.
The exhibitors who have the most success at shows are the ones who put the most work into attracting their own visitors.
Read that last paragraph again!
Here’s how to achieve it:
1) The organizers will often provide you with free tickets. Send them out together with good personal sales letter telling your customers and prospects all the ways they will benefit by coming to see you.
Have you got any promotions especially for the show? Are you launching new products or services? This is the place to tell them. Don't forget to include location maps and a floor plan showing your stand. Make it worth their while to make the effort to visit you!
TOP TIP! Including a quality photograph with your press release will give you a better chance of being published and you will benefit from more space. We have thoroughly tested this and it works!
2) Flag your attendance on all of your advertising and include your stand number so that visitors can easily find you.
3) Send out press releases to your trade press giving details about your product launches or special show promotions. If it is a big public show you should also include the national press with your releases.
4) Overprint or put stickers on all of your stationery - invoices, statements everything.
5) Ask your customers every time you speak to them, “Are you going to the show?”
6) Announce it boldly on the front page of your web site.
7) Send a message to your customers at different times using email and the fax machine.
8) Include leaflets and posters with goods that you send out.
The single biggest fear that exhibitors have is introducing customers to their competitors. Believe me, it is of no consequence. Remember you will also be meeting their customers.
