Trade Show Help & Advice

Break Down

Even if things seem very quiet, don’t start breaking down your stand until the organizers have given the end-of-show announcement. There are two very good reasons for this:

1) You never know who is still in the hall.

You have paid a lot per hour to attend the show - so get the most out of it. A lot business is done between exhibitors at shows, so use the time to walk around and talk to as many exhibitors as you can.

It’s very possible you’ll make a business contact, who could more than cover the cost of your stand.

2) It is dangerous and probably against the law.

It is dangerous (and rude) to break down your stand while any visitors remain in the hall. You will be contravening the terms and conditions that you agreed to when you signed the contract and you will be deemed to be placing visitors at risk. There is also a legal requirement to turn off the power to stands prior to breakdown.

So relax, be patient and make some notes ready for your next show.
