Taking Part In A Trade Show Can Be Risky... Don't Leave Your Success To Chance!
At just about every trade show I’ve organized over the past 15 years, at least one of the exhibitors has stood in my organizers office ranting and raving about a problem they’ve encountered. A few of them have even threatened me with physical violence.
Me! friendly, mild mannered, softly spoken, laid back.....
Why? Without exception it was combination of two things. Firstly, a trade show is a stressful environment made worse by having tight deadlines. Secondly, they didn’t read the trade show manual.
Typical complaints will be: ”I need a glass cabinet and there are non left” or ”The security guards have stopped me breaking my stand down an hour early” and “My stand’s too dark, the hall lights aren’t bright enough”... plus a hundred others in a similar vein.
However, the saddest complaint of all is, “I’m not coming next year... I’ve just not written enough business”.
If you properly prepare yourself in advance, you can avoid all of this stress and ensure that you will have a pleasurable and profitable trade show.
