Trade Show Help & Advice
Optimize Your Trade Stand Design
Before deciding on the size and type of your stand, you should think long and hard about just what you want to accomplish. Are you going to be selling off your stand? Will you be running demonstrations? Will the gangways be wide enough to accomodate this?
Are you running video displays? Where will you mount the equipment?
Consider how best to display your products - in cabinets - on racks - on the stand walls.
Make it comfortable for your visitors to spend time on your stand. Shows involve a lot of walking, so some comfortable seats will encourage visitors to relax awhile.
Why not face the seating towards your displays so that the visitors will be looking at them all the time they are with you. Provide them with refreshments - tea, coffee, soft drinks and nibbles are fine.
Check with the organizers, most venues strictly enforce their rights to provide all catering.
Above all, your design should reflect the image of your Company you want the world to see.
Security
Security is usually a bigger issue at public shows. There are, unfortunately, some people who target shows just to steal from the stands. This may influence the way you design your stand. Lockable glass cabinets are an ideal way of displaying small, high value items.
If you are selling from your stand, consider hiring a full-length counter unit - these can be glass topped which will allow you to display your products underneath.
If your stand is open on two or more sides bear in mind that you will need more staff to cope with the extra length of your counters.
Shell Scheme or Space Only
You may be given the choice of these two options. Shell Scheme would appear to be more expensive.
It is a modular system of walls, pillars and ceiling grid that can be adapted to suit most requirements.
It can incorporate lockable cupboards, counters, tall pillars and much more.
Check to see what is included in the price and then calculate how much you will need to spend on extras to suit your needs.
