Designing Your Stand
The wall panels are usually Velcro™ compatible, which means you can fix graphics, and light samples to it using Velcro™ tape. You cannot nail, screw or staple onto the panels.
The Space Only option is usually only applies to island sites... those open on all four sides. This should not be seen as a cheap option. It is usually for businesses that will build their own custom stand, often using a specialist contractor. The organizer will want to see technical drawings before the design can be approved and it will cost you a lot more than Shell Scheme.
In some shows the organizer will allow exhibitors to put up a more basic design, using a “pop up” type of display, or even just a back panel and a tabletop display.
Check with the organizers, most venues strictly enforce their rights to provide all catering.
Always check with the organizer to make sure that what you propose will be acceptable.
A good source of ideas is other shows. Pick a subject that interests you and go along and see what other exhibitors are doing. Take some photos (if allowed) and make some notes. You will come away buzzing with ideas.
Do a dummy run. An effective way to check your layout is to mark it out full size in your factory.... even outside if the weather permits. Place empty boxes in positions to represent furniture and the other features on your stand.
This will help you get a feeling of scale and make appropriate adjustments to your layout.
